The debut of Wilsonian's Grain, live from the Kennedy Center Jazz Club on October 17, 2008 featuring pianist Orrin Evans, Ugonna Okegwo on bass and Bill Stewart on drums — all long-time friends. The show aired April 2, 2009 on NPR's JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater.

October 7 & 8, 2011: Steve Wilson with Strings at the Kennedy Center, originally aired on NPR's JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater the week of Feb 2, 2011. Steve's program featured music from Bird With Strings. The band features Bruce Barth on piano, Michael Bowie on bass, Lewis Nash on drums, and a killin' string section: Diane Monroe, Matvei Sigalov, Naira Underwood, Troy Stuart and Dawn Johnson. Steve has been a member of Christian McBride's Inside Straight since their debut at the Village Vanguard on June 26, 2007. On September 5, 2009 the group performed at the Detroit Jazz Festival. NPR aired the show September 2, 2010. Click here to listen.

The Blue Note 7 toured across the US, visiting 51 cities, January through April 2009 and featured Bill Charlap, Ravi Coltrane, Nicholas Payton, Steve, Peter Bernstein, Peter Washington and Lewis Nash. The band was put together to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Blue Note Records and included repertoire from its rich history. On October 24, 2010, Steve returned to the Kennedy Center as a special guest with The Michael Wolff Trio. This performance aired on Jazz Set; April 1, 2010. Joining Michael and Steve was Chip Jackson on bass and Victor Jones on drums.

Steve has been a member of the Maria Schneider Orchestra for many years. On May 16, 2009, they played the Women in Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center. Listen to the concert, aired November 25, 2010 on NPR's Jazz Set.
